Forrest Pritchard is a seventh generation farmer and author. In his book, Gaining Ground, Pritchard talks about the journey he took to bring his family farm to the successful place it is today. When asked why some farmers surge forward while others give up, Pritchard explained, in a Modern Farmer interview, he was one of those “farmers who have been born into the land and have been surrounded by fields and forests and streams”. He faced challenges and overcame obstacles to do what simply was a part of him.
