Crispy Battered Green Beans
Crispy Battered Green Beans are very easy to make. We love them because they are unusual and you don’t get them in restaurants. They are actually very similar to Japanese tempura vegetables; they become wonderfully crispy, and you can use any vegetable. Crispy Battered Green Beans can be served as a side dish or as a snack.
Editor’s Note:
These are delicious with the addition of a 1/2 teaspoon of Black Garlic or Cured Sumac. Using an airfryer makes them even easier to make.
Ingredients
- 500 grams (4 cups) green beans, trimmed
- 2 eggs
- 150 ml (2/3 cup) water
- 100 grams (1/2 cup) all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon spice of choice
- 1 pinch salt
- Vegetable oil, for frying
Preparation
- Mix the ingredients of the batter together and beat. You can also add other spices or herbs.
- Wash the beans, remove the tips and pat dry.
- Place the beans in the batter and deep-fry in hot oil. Serve hot.
